Despite my promotion of a thought-provoking television show dealing in ethics and disability issues, I’m also a fan of mindless comedy. Our new favorite show at Casa de Andi is “Duck Dynasty” on A&E. It’s a rare show that can attract the interest of both Mr. Andi and me, and even more rare to find one that we’re both willing to watch over and over again. “Duck Dynasty” fits the bill.
Why, exactly, do Mr. Andi and I love “Duck Dynasty” so much? Um…it’s because the family featured on the show is Just. Like. His. Family. (except without the money and beards). The first season concluded in May, but we didn’t start watching until June, when it was rerun. Thus far, we’ve recorded 13 of 15 episodes on our DVR, with the final two scheduled to record today. Most of them we’ve watched multiple times.
Have you seen the show? Who’s your favorite character? I heart Jase!
Have you checked out Ollie Faith Designs yet? Shop owner Annie makes handstamped necklaces, including special T21-themed ones. I’ve been thinking for…I don’t know…a YEAR since she started her shop that I would order one, but haven’t done it yet. Partly because I don’t wear much jewelry and wonder if it would sit in my jewelry box unworn, but mostly because I am the Most. Indecisive. Woman. Ever. and struggle to purchase anything on Etsy that has options.
And note that I wasn’t asked to promote Ollie Faith, and owner Annie has no idea who I am. I just think it’s cool what she’s doing.
Have you seen the story about the former FBI agent who claims to have seen angels guarding the Flight 93 crash site? In this day and age when it seems like everyone is looking for their fifteen minutes of fame, it’s easy to be cynical about her story. But I want to believe it. Do you?
Congratulations to reader Rachel B. for winning the BabyLegs giveaway! Thank you to everyone who participated!
While sitting here typing my Snippets (and grasping into the far reaches of my brain to try to come up with two more), I saw a commercial for the movie “Ted” that said it’s the #1 movie in America. Really? REALLY? I love me some Marky Mark Wahlberg, but I have yet to see a trailer for this film that even makes me think I’d choose to watch it for free at home on a rainy Saturday in January – never mind pay to see it in a theater.
I don’t insist that every movie I watch is an Oscar winner (in fact, I’ve seen very few of the Oscar winners over the past few years), and I love an idiotic Adam Sandler flick just as much as the next gal – even “The Waterboy” – but I don’t get this Ted thing. If you’ve seen the movie and liked it, please enlighten me as to its appeal.
I think I’ve decided to skip the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend this year. If you know me in real life or have been following the blog for awhile, you probably know that it’s unheard of for me not to run either the half or full marathon (or both) the second week of January at Walt Disney World, so this is big news.
Of course, I haven’t decided for sure yet. Most. Indecisive. Woman. Ever.
Have a great weekend!

I have now purchased three necklaces from Annie at Ollie Faith Designs.. two for myself and one for our gal’s godmother.. they are all SO pretty and hold deep meaning courtesy of Annie’s artistic touches, which is the best part.. Go for it! Treat yourself, as we mom’s so often think of ourselves last..and once in awhile its okay to be spontaneous (something I have to talk myself into doing more of)..
Happy Friday!

Thanks for the feedback on your purchases! I may have to go ALL IN on something. Finally. 🙂

had date night this week and saw Ted with honey and friends. I usually don’t like slapstick and I could have done without a few 4 letters, but it was FUNNY!!!! A few too many jewish jokes, too, but still FUNNY!!! This is NOT a kid movie.
And yes, Duck Dynasty is a fav at our house too. Kay cracks me up!!! I wish I had an Escalade so I could make honey bring some goats home in it!!!!
See you in 5 days!!!

So I’m watching tv right now and trying to find something good… I saw Duck Dynasty and HAD to watch it. Naturally, it’s your fault. (Not mine for being so easily influenced.)
If you don’t do the WDW Marathon Weekend, you still have time to sign up for Tinker Bell the following weekend and then you can Coast to Coast with Princess or Wine and Dine. See how helpful I am?

And to answer your question: Si. Definitely Si.

Okay, okay, okay…so I may COME to marathon weekend. I just don’t think I’m going to run this time.
And for Jennifer and Adrienne, the Duck Dynasty fans…I’m a fan of Phil’s lessons to his grandkids.
